The 60th annual Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute conference will be held from 5 Nov 2007 through 9 November 2007 at the Ocean Blue Hotel (do not use this website for reservations) in Bovara near Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. GCFI has negotiated special rates at this all-inclusive resort hotel. The rates are 125 $US single occupancy, $85 per person double occupancy, $80 per person triple occupancy, and $75 per person quadruple occupancy. Taxes and a $3 per night booking fee are additional. There are a number of special sessions, symposia and workshops associated with the 60th GCFI.

• The Status of Goliath Grouper: Finding a Common Conservation and Management Solution through a Regional Scientific and Fisheries Framework.
• Regional Science, Management, Trade, and Processing of the Caribbean Spiny Lobster.
• 3-day workshop convened by the Seafood Science and Technology Society of the Americas. The workshop will focus on spiny lobster processing and seafood identification.
• Special Session on Nassua grouper sponsored by The Caribbean Fisheries Management Council and the Society for the Conservation of Reef Fish Spawning Aggregations.
