FOR THE 58 TH GULF AND CARIBBEAN FISHERIES INSTITUTE

ABSTRACT GUIDELINES:

Abstracts will be accepted in English, French or Spanish. ALL ENGLISH ABSTRACTS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED WITH SPANISH TRANSLATIONS.  French and Spanish abstracts must also be accompanied by a title, abstract, and key words in English.  Abstracts should not exceed 300 words and may be in MSWord or WordPerfect format. Please name your file using the name(s) of the author(s) as they will appear in the program (e.g., SmithGarciaJones.doc).  Additional information can be found here: http://www.gcfi.org/Conferences/RefMats/AbstractSubmissionGuideEng.htm

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION:

Please submit your abstract using the form found on the GCFI web page: http://www.gcfi.org/Forms/AbstractSubmissionEng.php.

Permission to present at an oral session requires submission of a full and complete manuscript in the proper format prior to presentation at the meeting.  Poster presentations do not require submission of a manuscript (although they are enthusiastically accepted).  However, students wishing to compete for the student awards are required to submit a manuscript for publication in the GCFI Proceedings at the meeting.  Manuscript preparation guidelines are available on the GCFI website, www.gcfi.org, (or can be requested from the Executive Secretary at the address above).

 

AIRLINE AND HOTEL RESERVATIONS/INFORMATION

GCFI has secured the services of a travel agent who has negotiated a significant discount on COPA airlines from the published airfares. Please e-mail Susan Saad for a quote at: ssaad@receptourdelcaribe.com. She will also coordinate reservations for hotel rooms ( HOTEL SUNRISE BEACH : www.sunrisehotel.com.) Special conference rates of approximately $116 US (single) or $100 per person double occupancy are available. There are also rates available for 3 people per room. (Rates may change as exchange rates vary.) The rates are all inclusive (food and drinks until 9:00 pm are included in the rate.) Additional information will be posted on the GCFI web page and through the listserver.

REGISTRATIONS

Registrations can be made online using the form found here: https://ssl4.westserver.net/gcfi.org/Forms/Registration58.php. Early registration (until 15 September) for the meeting is US$150 ($75 for students); late registration after 15 Sept is $200 US ($100 student). Registration at the door is $225 US ($125 student). Check the GCFI website for daily registration rates.

Onsite registrations may be made with a credit card, check, money order, or US currency. Everyone registering automatically is a member of GCFI and will receive a copy of the GCFI Proceedings from the 58 th meeting when published. Other arrangements may be made by contacting registrations@gcfi.org.
