U of Miami Alumni Reception (NOTE: changed to Thurs Eve.)

 

The 56th annual meeting of the Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute will be held from 10 November 2003 through 14 November 2003 in Tortola, British Virgin Islands (map of Tortola).  The meeting will be held at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College.

 Sessions will focus on: Biology, Ecology, and Assessment of Reef and Pelagic Fishes; Biology, Ecology, and Assessment of Invertebrate Marine Fisheries; Management and Socio-Economics of Marine Fisheries; Marine Protected Areas and Ecological Reserves; Essential Fish Habitat; Caribbean Aquaculture; and Recreational Fisheries. There will be a special socioeconomic session on co-management. Additionally, there will be a general poster session/reception. The University of Miami will be hosting a reception for alumni and their friends.  For more information, click hereNOTE: This reception, originally scheduled for Wed evening, has been changed to Thurs evening.

Students are eligible for awards for best poster and best paper.
